The usual options

Why look for another approach?

Finasteride and minoxidil are the most studied hair-loss treatments there are, and they help a lot of people. They don't suit everyone. Here's what the trials, the regulators and the labs say about their downsides, and how sure each finding is.

Every finding comes from a label, a regulator or a published study, read at the source and graded by how it was found. We'll hold ours to the same rules.

Would ours avoid these?

Not necessarily. A few of our ingredients act on the same enzyme as finasteride, and any serum can irritate a scalp. Once it's fully tested, it gets its own column here.

Why Tried

Hair care that shows its work.

Kept like every record on Tried: what's in it, why, and what the research found.

  • Named ingredients

Every ingredient and every amount, published. You could source it yourself.

  • Read the studies

Tap any ingredient to read the studies on it: who took part, what they found, and who paid.

  • Numbers, not slogans

We report what a study measured, not the biggest-sounding version of it.

  • Easy to keep up

A sachet and a serum, not a shelf of bottles. Simple enough to do every day.

  • Honest records

Your record says what you did and what you noticed. What Tried sells never changes it.
